A Private Tour of the Art Gallery of NSW
The Archibald Prize for portrait painting is Australia’s most celebrated and democratic – sometimes controversial – art award. Open to any artist living in Australia or New Zealand, since 1921 it has reflected the unique experiences of the people who live in this region, highlighting figures from all walks of life.
As equally exciting for the diverse entries they attract from across the country, the Wynne Prize is for landscape painting of Australian scenery, or figure sculpture, while the Sulman Prize is for subject painting, genre painting or a mural project.
The tour duration is for one hour. We have arranged for up to 40 people to be able to participate. Up to two guides will be available.
We anticipate that registrants may wish to view other exhibits after the guided tour.
For those able to stay on, we will meet up informally at the museum cafe for late morning tea/early lunch (at own expense).
We will meet at 9.15am adjacent to the entrance of the historic south building. The guiding staff will meet us in Kaldor Hall.
The cost is $30 per person.
